What is the difference between security and privacy?
A network may claim to be secure, that doesn't always mean user data is private. Other companies ensure user safety by sending out privacy policies, proposing themselves as "champions of privacy". However, user data is collected obtrusively with cookies and other platforms, and users are either not given the ability to opt out of sharing their information, or the user is punished if they choose to opt out by not being allowed access to the platform. But in this day and age, most people need access to the internet to in order function, so they are ultimately forced to use these platforms as their data is being harvested. At Aerendir Mobile, we believe this is a forced interaction.
We recognize that people want to keep their private information private. People are ready to have control of their privacy. People want the choice to have their privacy. Currently, there’s a false choice between security and privacy, but A-Cert® allows for both. We can offer customization--the choice to choose whether users share their information--overall giving people the ability to control their privacy.
We feel that Privacy and Civil Liberties can be compatible with the IT's accelerating power, as long as the user is in control. For this reason, we created a Bring your Own Device (BYOD) solution that supports contactless functionality for a wide range of applications.
What is A-Cert® and how does it protect digital identity?
Keeping the technology in the hands of the user, Aerendir Mobile's A-Cert® service merges digital Certificates (a chain of Trust), Intent (an act like accessing a facility or buying a ticket) and Biometrics (the user's Neuroprint®) to allow for security (our protective framework) and safety (peace of mind and privacy).
A-Cert® binds a dedicated Trust Certificate and key-pair with a person's biometric signature rather than the individual's identifying information, such as name, address, credit card number or social security number. A-Cert® is nevertheless linked to an individual's identity, but in a way that gives the option to protect the user's identity or not.
The result is a private, trustable, linkable, fully encrypted and auditable digital identity.
What are the use cases?
A-Cert® is a Bring Your Own Device (BYOD) solution that supports contactless functionality for a wide range of applications. The primary use-case for A-Cert® is access control, where it can replace the legacy RFID systems and/or CAC cards. A secondary use case includes Intent, such as buying goods and services in m-commerce, online payments, mobility and even health applications that can handle the routing of very private medical or medico-legal data and build ad hoc intent-specific dual encryption.

A-Cert® merges digital Certificates, Biometrics and Intent to result in a trusted confirmation of an individual's identity that can either be anonymized or made known. We offer these competitive advantages...
- Assurance and Integrity for the service provider that the correct person and the correct device are connecting to the session.
- Optional Privacy as the user can choose whether to anonymize their identity or make their identity known depending on the use case.
- Total Security with a biometric "2-Plus Factor Authentication" method and a trusted identity which renders SIM-swapping useless.
